TO DOCUMENT TRAVEL MEMORIES: Bonjournal

Cheesy name aside, Bravolol provides you with a basic phrasebook in over 13 languages, with phonetic spelling and pronunciation. which are available for use offline. As its name suggests, this app isn’t going to help much in navigating the wilderness of the Australian Outback. But if you’re planning on exploring new cities and urban spaces, Citymaps2go offers downloadable maps and guides to over 7000 locations around the world, which can be accessed without an internet connection.

It may be a broad generalisation to say that the first words one learns when picking up a foreign language are the curse words, but it’s a fun observation nonetheless. There are a tons of language apps out there, but if you’re less interested in telling someone that their Aunt Jennifer has a pretty dress, and more keen on telling them that their Aunt Jennifer is a lady of negotiable affection in Tagalog, you should download Swearpot, which teaches you how to swear in more than 70 different languages.
