Last month, we shortlisted the most useful apps to help you navigate, economise and swear (yes, seriously) your way through your travels abroad. If you found that list useful, here’s a less profane – but no less useful- list of apps that you should consider getting before your next trip.

IF YOU SUFFER FROM JETLAG: Entrain
What it costs: Free
Platform: iOS/Android

If you’ve ever had to experience a redeye flight across multiple time zones, you know how hellish jet-lag can be. Researchers at the University of Michigan have developed an app that will help you move your circadian clock to the right time zone before embarking on your trip.

It’s a project that’s constantly being refined, so if you’re feeling particularly helpful, you could choose to submit your own schedule to further improve Entrain’s accuracy.

IF YOU’RE ADDICTED TO BEING ONLINE: WiFi Finder
What it costs:
 Free
Platform:
iOS/Android

Does the proposition of being offline evoke the same feeling as someone asking you to sever a limb? Don’t worry, we’re not judging. WiFi Finder helps you automatically connect to the nearest WiFi in range, which could help you save on those pesky roaming fees. A clean, fuss-free UI makes this app easy to use.

TO GET BARGAINS ON FLIGHTS: Hopper
What it costs: Free
Platform: iOS/Android

If you have a flexible work schedule and cost is a bigger concern to you than timing, you may want to check out Hopper. The app tracks billions of flights to suggest the most suitable time frame to buy your tickets, with an in-app calendar that’s colour-coded from green to red, based on affordability.

IF YOU’RE DROWNING IN BUSINESS CARDS: Camcard
What it costs:
Free
Platform: iOS/Android

Overstuffed wallets are a thing of the past. Either that or you haven’t heard of Camcard yet. It’s a nifty little app that able to read and store cards, organising the contact info in your phone. Im the event that you have international business contacts, the app is able to accurately read up to 16 languages.

PS. If you’re an Evernote user and don’t want to deal with app bloat, try using Scannable instead.

IF YOU TEND TO OVERPACK: Packing Pro
What it costs:
$4.48
Platform: iOS

We’ve all been guilty at one point or another of over or underpacking for a trip. If the prospect of freezing your gonads off in Copenhagen because you forgot thermal underwear doesn’t sound appealing, you could do a lot worse than Packing Pro. It’s got comprehensive categorisation options for those of us who tend to miss out the small – but crucial – details.

On a related note, our contributor Renata has written a nifty guide to packing light, which you can check out here.
